The face of the Half Crown depicts King Edward the Seventh Head and the words EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The reverse of the Edward VII Silver Half Crown is marked with the words HALF 1909 CROWN FID: DEF: IND: IMP: and depicts a Crown over a Shield. The Half Crown was worth Two Shillings and Sixpence (pre-decimalisation) or Two and Six, one eighth of a Pound, equal to Half of a Crown or Thirty pence.
